Questions.....

When life gives you questions what do you do? I'm curious, so post/answer away!

And please post more than just pray or ask God or something like that. What else do you do? Do you think and agonize about it? Do you put it on the back shelf and put it out once a day to get new thoughts? What do you do? Does this even make sense????

Yes, it does make sense. But, oh my! I don't know what I do! You're asking a question about questions, and it's trying to make me think! My brain doesn't work like this.

Besides the obvious, praying, which really is important and which can't be emphasized enough, I find it helpful to think about something, over all aspects of it, for a while, then let it rest. Every time it comes back into my mind, pray again--this helps remind me to not be anxious, too. And then, depending on if I have the time to think about it then (such as when I'm doing a task that doesn't require much thought--washing dishes always finds me waxing philosophical), think about it a little more. If not, I put it back on the shelf. If it's making me anxious, I put it back on the shelf. I TRY to not think about it at bedtime! I have a hard enough time trying to get to sleep without adding fuel to the fire. I find that if I don't constantly obsess over something, but give it times (not too often or too long) to think over, my mind is clearer. Obviously, I haven't applied this method in writing this comment.

I must say, I like the idea of thinking a question over ONCE A DAY a lot. I may have to start a new method, and use my dishwashing time as my problem-solving time also (since I know that's a task I'll be doing every day). Or maybe tooth-brushing time. Though that doesn't seem long enough. And I'd have to do it in the morning, 'cause the evening one would inevitably carry over to bedtime anxiousness.

Okay, this post isn't terribly lucid, and I seem to be losing any clarity I might have to tiredness. Sorry my answer is rather, uh, lame. Thank you for getting me thinking. Perhaps I'll come up with something that's actually helpful. Oh, I should clarify one point: I will think over something at bedtime if it doesn't make me anxious. If it's pleasant, or simply neutral, it can sometimes help me get to sleep. Oh my goodness, I really need to stop.
