Another Question, a green question

Why do think encourage you to "bring your own bags! Save the environment!"  And then hand you a receipt a mile long??

What's wrong with that picture?

Yes, I'm in a random, wierd mood... sorry....

Well, we can't reduce all forms of waste and receipts are kind of helpful. On the other hand, if it's one of those ones that has fifty bazillion coupons on the back and is a lot longer because of it, then that's silly.

because they have a solution to using too many plastic bags and hurting the earth...bring your own. Nobody has a solution to using to much paper on receipts...you can't bring your own, and it would be much too much hassle to email you your recepit or something like that through the computer. They just haven't figured out a way for you to bring your own receipt yet...but once they do, I'm sure they will be telling you to make sure to bring it when you go to the store!

Whole Foods Market (based in Austin, TX but rapidly spreading nationwide) prints their receipts two-sided, with water-soluble ink. Unfortunately, if you get it wet, you can't read it anymore.

I kind of think lots of the major chains are just trying to make money by not having to give you lots of bags.
